Just a quick post to say how delighted and honored I am to have been featured at two other websites within the past month.
The website, WellSummit.org, is the home of the W.E.L.L. Summit; more than just a "Women's conference”, it is “a celebration of living well, making empowered consumer decisions, learning from top professionals – and of course, the luxury of health”.
As part of their Mother’s Day celebration in May, their Content Director, Nicolle Mackinnon, was kind enough to include me in her piece on How Wellness Experts Mother Themselves. While I’m not sure I qualify as a “wellness expert”, it was flattering to be included with a list of truly empowered, heart-centered moms, like:
- Jeannie Jarnot, Founder, Beauty Heroes®
- Sarita Coren, holistic mom and blogger at Edible Facial
- Asha Ramakrishna, Founder, Soul + Business Mentor/Coach
- Barbara Jacques, Founder, Jacq’s Organics

Then, within just a couple of days, I was elated to be included – and quoted – in an article at HuffingtonPost.com!
Written by Vicky Lyashenko, and titled 17 Most Valuable Lessons from Our Mothers — Mom Preneurs Tell All, the article asked for and received some inspiring stories from a variety of mom entrepreneurs, about the most valuable lessons their mothers taught them about motherhood.
Here is what I shared from my mom:
“She taught me through her actions to have a sense of humor and to move past frustrations quickly. Mom always said, ‘You get 20 minutes to complain about something, then you either have to fix it or laugh and live with it.’ My daughter has learned this mantra well.”
I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am to these wonderful women for finding me, connecting with me, and helping me tell the story of my life, and how I developed the Simply Chickie organic clothing line.
