Earth Day 2019

Our Quick Look at What Earth Day Is And Why It's Important

When is Earth Day?

It’s Monday, April 22nd. It was created in the United States to raise public awareness of environmental problems and is now celebrated around the world. The first Earth day was celebrated in 1970 by 20 million people. Senator Gaylord Nelson founded it.

Earth Day Activities

Every year there are many Earth Day activities: men, women, and children collect garbage, plant trees, pick up trash on coastlines and plan for a better future for our planet. There is typically a new resolve each April 22nd to use environmentally friendly products, buy from environmentally friendly companies, and use environmentally friendly cleaning products.

Paying attention to your cleaning product is important to our water supply, we like to use baking soda, lemon, coarse salt and vinegar. Vinegar can really make the kitchen sparkle; baking soda makes stainless sinks clean and creates a nice scrub. Of course, lemon makes the whole house smell fresh.

Of course, we like to promote the value of organic cotton clothing and organic cloth diapers. Simply Chickie has you covered in the organic baby clothes category!
